Nations United

We are so excited at KCC to see more and more people joining from different cultural backgrounds that we had to start up a social group!  So 'Nations United' are THE social events of KCC celebrating our cultural diversity through food, music, fashion, more food and any other way we can think of to celebrate together.

These events are giving people from different backgrounds in KCC an opportunity to express aspects of their culture to the rest of the church, and in turn for people to learn through enjoying such things as new food and music, and hearing how people in different parts of the world live.

Past Events

So far we've held a 'Multi-Cultural Evening' with food tasters, a fashion show of different cultural outfits and finishing off with the extremely talented gospel choir from London, IDMC.  This was a great event to kick things off, diving straight in with tasting all kinds of different food from everywhere from China to Brazil, Germany to South Africa.

Summer in 2007 saw us enjoying a traditional South African braai (bbq) with the men cooking the most amazingly tastiest meat.  Over 200 adults and children joined in and a few were able to try out African drumming and wine tasting.

2008 began with our 'India Evening' with again more food, fashion and music.  We were treated to a musical contribution from the Southampton Asian Christian Outreach church who drummed and sang and even got people up learning to dance with some traditional Indian moves.  There was much fun and laughter as everyone got into it and even commented how much they enjoyed it.
