‘Preparation For Mission’

A six month intensive training programme based in

King’s Community Church, Southampton, UK.

The Vision

Here in KCC we have a passion to extend the kingdom of God among the nations, and so to fulfill our part in the Great Commission of Jesus Christ.

The vision behind this training programme is to connect with people, especially internationals, who have a similar passion to serve the Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe we can help equip such people with both a Biblical understanding of the purposes of God in the earth, and also with practical ministry skills with which to lead churches, plant new churches and take the gospel cross culturally to unreached people groups.

We want to help people, especially internationals, to extend the kingdom of God through such means as care for the poor, education, business etc, and also through self sufficiency projects such as micro enterprise, farming etc.

This training will not just be classroom study, but will take place in the context of a dynamic growing local church, in which it will be possible to gain 'hands on' experience in various activities to practically develop various ministry skills.

Also this training will provide an opportunity to connect up with an experienced missionary minded church which will partner and support viable and godly kingdom and church planting initiatives among the nations.

In December 2009 KCC's International Training Centre was accredited by the British Accreditation Council for Independent Further and Higher Education.

More about Kings Community Church

KCC started in the early 1980's and now over 600 people regularly attend on a Sunday.  The church occupies its own purpose built facilities in Hedge End near Southampton, UK and is currently in the process of developing a new 1300 seater auditorium.

Mainly through the senior pastor, Martyn Dunsford, KCC has been engaged with international mission for more than 20 years, serving in over 30 different nations focussing in Europe both east and west, the middle east, Russia and its former republics, the far east, and various African nations.

KCC is a member church of Newfrontiers, headed up by Terry Virgo, a worldwide family of churches with an apostolic vision for the nations.  Martyn works in various teams within Newfrontiers, particularly responsible to David Devenish, a senior apostolic ministry in Newfrontiers.

This work has given us international experience preaching the gospel cross culturally, teaching the word of God and training up leaders, establishing new churches on strong foundations, providing fathering relationships to church leaders, raising up apostolic teams to plant more churches, reaching unreached people groups and resourcing international mission generally.

Ministry with the poor is a high priority for us and through our children's charity Care & Relief for the Young (CRY) we support a range of caring works in over 20 nations.  More recently we have been engaged in self sufficiency for the poor through small business start ups through our new foundation 'Seed'.

Through our International Training we want to help equip and provide opportunities, especially for internationals with the call of God on their lives, to extend the kingdom of God and play their part in fulfilling the Great Commission.

Who is it for?
This training specifically provides for internationals from abroad who have a clear call on their lives to serve God. They should have a passion to extend the kingdom of God, have leadership potential and have a capacity for hard work.

It is geared especially towards those who lack opportunities in their home context and who would have difficulty in accessing quality training which would adequately prepare them for Christian service.

It will also provide a useful foundation for those in the UK, or other similar nations, who are planning to get involved in international mission.
