How to give financially to KCC

Information for new and current givers

We are grateful to God for everyone who gives financially towards the work of King’s Community Church (KCC). We have been blessed over many years with a membership committed to giving to the ongoing work of God amongst us. Giving to the church has been regular (with most people giving in proportion to their income) but always out of a personal conviction that God wants his people to be generous and joyful givers.

We have produced this page as a means of helping you should you wish to also give financially to the work of KCC.

Tithes/Regular Giving

·        We encourage and teach people to give regularly to the local church, with tithing as a guideline (i.e. a tenth of your income). This is primarily used to pay our staff, run the building and many of our church activities.

·         You may choose to give your tithe by standing order or by cheque or cash into the offering bowl.

Offerings
·         In addition each week an offering is taken for a specific cause (see the newsletter for notice of future offerings). These may be church related such as for the upkeep of the building, Kidz Klub or Alpha.
·         Offerings are also taken to support our work with churches overseas, CRY (an international children’s charity linked to KCC), disaster relief and other people/projects in the UK and abroad.
·         Once or twice a year we may have a special offering for major projects.

How to give
·         If you wish give by standing order please click here to down load a form which you can send to your bank..
·         All cheques should be made payable to KCC - regardless of what the offering is for.
·         If you tithe by cheque, please mark the back of your cheque with the word ‘tithe’.
·         If you tithe with cash please use one of the envelopes on the table in the foyer, ticking the tithe box. If you put cash or cheques into the offering bowl we will assume it is for that week’s offering, unless it is marked otherwise.
·         If you are giving cash and have completed or intend to complete a Gift Aid form, please use one of the envelopes from the table in the foyer, marking it with your name and ticking the tithe or offering box. This will enable us to reclaim the tax – see below.

Gift Aid
·         If you are a UK taxpayer, the church can claim the tax you have paid on any gift, however large or small, whether a one off gift or a regular donation.
·         This costs you nothing and involves a simple Gift Aid declaration, which only has to be signed once, regardless of the amount of payments made under this scheme. Click here to download the form.
·         Each gift you make must be identifiable to you personally.
·         A Gift Aid declaration can be completed retrospectively as long as your donation can be identified.

How does this benefit the church?
·         By signing a Gift Aid Declaration, any money you give will be included in the tax claim that the church makes from the Inland Revenue.
·         This increases the value of your giving currently by about 28% (at current rates). For example, if you give £100 per month as a tithe and another £30 in the offerings during the month, the church can reclaim £36.67 in tax from the Inland Revenue.
·         There are also benefits for some individuals, eg higher rate taxpayers. Also if you claim Child Tax Credit, your donations under Gift Aid can be offset against your income when you are being assessed for the tax credit.

.         For additional information for Gift Aid donors click here.

Any questions?
If you are unsure how this all affects you, or would like to discuss this further, please speak to Barry Turner or Wendy Clark in the church office (01489 699 701).
