Building Projects at Sovereign Place

Sovereign Place, just off Junction 7 of the M27 is the home of King's Community Church. Over the past 15 years, the church has been involved in various building projects, which have resulted in the fantastic building that currently occupies the site.

Phase 2

We have just submitted a planning application to Eastleigh Borough Council (EBC) for a new auditorium with ancillary rooms, additional car parking facilities and a new site access onto Upper Northam Road, in order to accommodate the expanding size of congregation and growing activities of the church within the community.

We are awaiting a formal decision from EBC, which we hope to receive in Spring 2008.

19th September 2008: Planning Permission has been granted!

If you would like to see some of the proposed plans and artwork, then click on this link, to see a Powerpoint presentation. Alternatively, some will be on display at Sovereign Place over the next few months.

Visit back here for news on the application.

Phase 1

Ground was first broken on the site in 1995. Four years later, the first official meeting was held with a number of guests joining with the church to celebrate the building's opening. Since then, we have seen changes to the inside layout, the construction of a garage, the car park surface going from what resembled a quarry or bog depending on the weather to an all tarmac surface, as well as the provision of soft furnishings.
