Our Vision
The highest purpose of King’s Community Church is to honour Jesus Christ as Lord of all. To this end, we seek to be a people growing to maturity in Christ, enjoying His presence with us, experiencing His power individually and corporately in our meetings and to be a friendly people united in love and caring for each other.
We intend to be a church that will impact the world around us, both at home and abroad, with the gospel of Jesus Christ, demonstrating the love and power of God to save, heal and deliver people from sin and all its evil consequences.
Specifically we aim for the church to grow:
Stronger through the Word of God. We aim to provide regular instruction in the Word of God and encourage Bible study generally so that we might grow in the knowledge of God and develop a healthy and victorious life of faith.
Deeper through worship and prayer. We aim to prioritise worship and prayer in the Holy Spirit in all church meetings, with musical creativity and appropriate freedom of expression, with a God-centred focus as we magnify him and call on his Name. We seek to cultivate an appreciation of the presence of God and be sensitive to the moving of the Holy Spirit.
Warmer through caring fellowship. We aim to provide pastoral care, guidance and prayer-support for the people of God, and to foster a caring community where all share in the privileges and responsibilities of fellowship-life together, so that needs on every level are looked after- spiritual, emotional, social and practical. This is mainly outworked through the cell groups in the church.
Broader through every-member-ministry. We aim to encourage each member to recognise and develop their God-given gifts and abilities, both natural and spiritual. We aim to create a discipleship ethos throughout the whole church, and to provide whatever training is necessary to equip and release people into the particular works of service to which God calls them.
Larger through evangelism. We seek to actively evangelise and spread the gospel by all means possible, and to disciple new believers in the ways of God in the context of the church. We aim to become a significantly large church, based in Hedge End and to influence the whole of the Solent region with the gospel. We seek God for an outpouring of his Spirit in revival power, both locally and for the whole nation.
Further through International Outreach. We share the responsibility of fulfilling the Great Commission through ministering in other nations, especially to help establish and strengthen new local churches, working in partnership with national Christians engaged in this task, and eventually to help bring the gospel to various unreached people. We also seek to minister to the needs of the poor and suffering wherever we can, especially children.
